There are endless reasons to start a radio station, from a desire to provide local news and information, building a community of interest, sharing your passion for a music genre .... I could go on.
"The Listener is King" of course, however, there are many benefits for participants too, including building technical and communication skills and publicity for those who appear on your channel as guests.
My expertise is in community and online radio. Taking Wycombe Sound from a 'back of an envelope' idea to an ARIA nomination (with 19 other awards along the way) is my proudest achievement.
Bucks Breakfast, a stand-alone live-streamed breakfast, was borne out of the pandemic and was geared towards a nation rapidly adopting smartspeakers.
Much has changed in the last two years, not least the way we consume radio and podcasts.
